Are remote employees productive? My take on nurture vs nature when it comes to how productive (or not) employees are being while working in an office vs remotely.

Through conference keynotes and (in-person or virtual) team workshops, Galen transforms how teams and leaders approach and establish culture, and the way people communicate and treat each other at work. He has an impressive portfolio of clients including Microsoft, Safeway/Albertsons, and NASA.

Galen’s captivating content teaches how to establish an intentional team culture of high-level engagement and performance, skyrocket leadership ability, skillfully give & receive feedback, and apply the improv concept of “Yes, And” to improve communication and EQ.

Dang, Galen! You are spitting truth, my friend! This is SO. FREAKING. TRUE! It does not matter where your high-performers work, they will be high performers simply because they cannot do their job any other way!

Yes to being in my PJs. But I'm hella productive at home. I go into work to meet and greet and get FaceTime with colleagues but at home sometimes i work too much so i shut the door at the end of my workday when i feel I've achieved stuff. But also if I'm not being productive i lean into and know that my letting myself be productive differently (like in the garden for an hour) i can go back and be brain refreshed. Also while I'm gardening or whatever brain is like thanks for the break... I'm gonna give you this epic idea. So you know..loving it

Couldn’t agree with you more! Our company is fantastic, but the new CEO seems obsessed with making sure everybody is back in the office. I started working from home and was way more productive. Back in the office, means open plan cubicles where the distractions are, much higher and productivity is, intern, much lower. I can agree that working in office does not equate to killing it.

Dont think it necessarily caliber of the person, could it be sure. However needs to be looked into deeper than just a simple it is what is mentality. Companies need to remember remote employees and while I know it is hard there are those that get forgotten because out of sight out of mind scenarios that can then lead them to seem unproductive even if they are asking to help others and turning in top notch work. The remote scene is a very complex scenario

You’re missing a crucial variable that doesn’t exist in a work from home environment which is accountability. The vast majority of people in an office will do as little as possible and fuck off as much as possible if there isn’t some type of boss holding them accountable. Saying that they’re unproductive anyways so we should just let them fuck off at home is a very lazy alternative to watching them screw off, holding them accountable and firing them
