Every film 'based on a true story' takes creative liberties cause it's meant to entertain, if it didn't might as well be an actual bio-pic. Even great films like Ford v Ferrari & Rush took creative licenses in some way. Most of the main story beats from the true life story of Jann are present in the film. Yes Jann wasn't the first winner like the film made it to believe but he was the youngest & has had the more interesting journey compared to other past winners which made translating to film easier to achieve.

It was a good film, and it made me do research on it. That’s crazy to think they had academy of gamer turn real racers. Which is amazing on it’s on

I know from the start that the GT movie has inaccuracies and added fictional elements to make the film more entertaining. All right or wrong aside but this film impressed me a lot in terms of cinematography, CGI, visual effects, drama, action and references from the GT games. as a huge fan of the racing gaming franchise and this is a must buy for my 4K ULTRA HD movie collection also.

It's still a very good movie no matter what. Choice of Archie as Jann superb! Amazing actor with a magnetic personality! Will watch it again!

"Nurburgring Northshlifer" is the funniest mispronounce of the track name I've ever heard

Also the movie clearly takes place in the modern day, whereas the real story happened over 10 years ago. Cars like the Lamborghini Huracan, the 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and the Koenigsegg Gemera didn't exist yet.

Its close enough. Its pretty obvious whats fictional and it all just helps makes the film more entertaining

One things for sure. This is the one of the few movies made based off of a game that's truly enjoyable. I did wish they were more accurate with his bond with the family though. It'll given this underdog story bit of more of a wholesome feel it should have. But great movie. Will watch it again!

I loved to watch this movie as someone freshly into SimRacing, and im totally fine with fictional additions or time-changes for the plot. I was blasted away how good they managed to show the speed in the cinema. It felt great

I really liked it, I was very impressed that Jann also has a real racing career since I belived that they would have retired him after a few race. Also I think people are really hungry for a proper racing movie, Ford vs Ferrari was masterpiece and I hope F&F will one day return to its more grounded roots.

What disturbed me most was the amount of Foto-finishes… you can do that one time for more tension, the second time was like „really, again?“, the third time was like „no way… skip this slomo, there is Not and tension left, its getting boring“. Abt there were two times that in very important races there were gaps of 6 seconds to the needed Position in the last round. I mean come on… even on a long track like le mans that gap is too big on that Level. Without a mistake of your opponent, really bad tyres or technical issues there is no way to reach and overtake.
And the overtakes were strange, too. Downshifting at the apex to turn inside and just pass the opponent is not how it works on this Level, its in the Breaking Zone or entrance, wurde you chose your line, or it is the better exit that lets you pass the next few hundret meters.
And i have to say: no sim-driver on his Level would drive with visible ideal line. And sometimes another line is fastet or brings you in position to attack, but in the movie he just drives every curve wide - in reality that can wird when your tyres have much more grip, but i have never seen a Professional driver doing this in every single curve in a row. The others are pro-drivers, their lines are not so bad that the long way around is faster… i know they try to make it entertaining and dramatic, but a bit more realism would have been better - i think many people watching this movie know about real racing. Rush was better regarding credibility.

I still liked the movie, the Story and the actora were Food and the racing scenes were great im visual aspects

The point is a gamer won the hardest real life Motorsport event in the world. That’s all that matters.

This was actually a really fun movie. I found myself not really caring that it was based (loosely im sure) on real events. I also didnt care that it was predictable and cliche. It was still a fun movie.

Movies still gotta follow "movie formula" to tell a story in movie form at the end of the day.

I wanted to see this film when it came out. Fast forward four months later, got to FINALLY watch it on Netflix. And I had a GREAT TIME watching it with my brother-in-law who’s practically my brother. I knew that this was based on a video game, but I had NO idea that it was based on a true story. I got my Dad to watch it, he watched it twice, which means that he too loved it. I’m planning to watch it again, as well. I also received Gran Turismo 7 for Christmas/Birthday. Five hours in, I’m LOVING the game. I’m about to go play some!
