The Freshman Foundation® Digital Course: Preview
Показать описание
Over the past 10+ years, your family has invested an enormous amount of time, energy, and money into your child's sport participation over the years in hopes of having the opportunity to extend their athletic career beyond high school.
However, having success at the collegiate level requires more than just athletic ability. Moving onto college introduces significant mental, emotional, and social challenges that a young athlete must be ready to navigate in addition to the demands of their sport.
Succeeding at the collegiate level requires a student-athlete to live on their own for the first time, make new friends, handle elevated academic demands, and perhaps deal with real athletic adversity for the first time.

Through my work in private practice with high school and college athletes, interviewing roughly 60 former athletes and experts for my podcast, and conducting extensive research on the topic of athletic transitions, I’ve identified five critical skills athletes can develop before they arrive on campus.
✅ Growth Mindset: Does the young athlete believe in the power of YET? Are they willing to embrace the growth process without necessarily seeing the results they want YET?
✅ Resourcefulness: Do they know WHERE to find the help they need? Perhaps more importantly, do they know HOW to ask for it?
✅ Confidence: Do they believe in their ability even if the results they achieve aren’t indicative of it right now?
✅ Resilience: Can they swiftly bounce back from adversity to get their head “back in the game,” so to speak?
✅ Building a supportive network: Are they surrounding themselves with the right people, who truly have their best interests at heart?
With these skills, college-bound athletes will have the tools to BE READY for this very challenging next step in the game of life.
Without these skills, great athletes may struggle with challenges that they haven’t yet faced before in their lives.
For the price of a plane ticket to a showcase, a top-end piece of equipment, or a package of personal training sessions, your student-athlete can be guided through an interactive learning process by a mental performance coach expert in understanding how to most effectively navigate the transition to collegiate athletics.
