Beautiful aircraft, I've taken this flight couple times it can be a bit bumpy out of Palm Springs.Alaska always does a great job!

Been what I call "bumpin and grindin" in and out of PSP since the 70s. Only had 1 go around and 1 diversion to Ontario CA in all of those years. Totally normal given the high winds through the Pass between the San Jacinto and San Gorgonio mountains. I believe this Pass records the highest wind speeds of any pass in the Country. In any event nice video and safe flying.

A few chops through the terrain situation of mountains around plus zooming on the wing & winglets which magnify any movement. Nothing extraordinary in my view yet nice catch.

Alaska is the best! Going into Vegas is pretty turbulent too but they handle it well.

I flew Chicago - Juneau many times. Alaska Airlines is the best, rated #1, with best pilots. Note smooth landing here.

There is almost always turbulence out of Palm Springs due to the wind tunnel between Mt. San Jacinto and the San Bernardino National Forest mountain area which is why it's such a prime spot for wind mills.

Worst yet, you have to make a sharp right turn after takeoff to avoid Mt San Jacinto which forced you to be broadsided by strong winds.

Last flight I took out of Palm Springs was in an Embraer 120. Try that out of Palm Springs!

Palm Springs, Reno, a bumpy ride out. Phoenix has its moments. Denver as tunnel effect. As long as you know to expect it the ride is actually kind of fun. Alaska is the best airline out there....I pretty much fly them exclusively when going up and down the west coast. Great service, friendly people on the jets. I didn't fly for 10-yrs after an incredibly brutal flight from Portland to Palm Springs in 1985, before non-stop service was available. We rocked and rolled all the way down the coast due to a heavy storm system. Flight attendants were seated less than 10 minutes after take off and remained seated all the way to LAX. That's turbulence you don't forget.

Despite the intense turbulence on lift off in the end was a perfect landing.

Nice video on a new bird. N260AK was delivered to Alaska Airlines in August 2016.

Amazing video. I get sht scared by turbulence but seeing this and similar vids reasures me that pilots can handle it. Thanks.

Moderate turbulence after take-off from PSP. Otherwise, beautiful late afternoon weather, gorgeous views of the sierra nevada, a beautiful flight and a very nice video...

Palm Springs can be terribly violent on takeoffs and landings. The city is known for beautiful weather, but the airport is another story in the wind plain.

And this is why I drink heavily before every flight.

From what I hear Palm Springs is infamous for turbulence. Typical for deserts and mountains.
