Excellent review! I will add two comments. 1) With the later versions of the OneR firmware, the overheating issue with standalone recording seems to have been resolved for me. 2) the OneR still has the red dot.

Now that’s a comparison video, great work Shanil. I use an Insta360 One X and a Qoocam 8K. I have found with the Qoocam 8k that when you have stitched the mov file in Qoocam Studio you can then use Insta360 Studio to reframe on PC, only export at 1080p though. I use Powerdirector 365 to reframe stitched footage from the Qoocam 8k and export in 4K too. Also you can use a Rode Wireless Go with the qoocam 8K and a double male 3.5mm audio adaptor and the receiver is invisible in the stitch line like Shanil did with the Insta360 One R in another one of his fantastic videos.

Thank you for your time and effort. I do not know much about 360 cameras. I have learned more from you. I am a hiker and I move fast on trail but do take a lot of photos of a lifetime. Besides my phone camera that I placed in my water-belt front pocket, I would like to try one of these cameras. GoPro does take clear photos/videos. I have not gone that far to explore any other brandnames yet. I saw some Insta360. The last camera gives darker shades of colors. Which camera would you recommend that offers waterproof, really light and compact, maybe GPS bluetooth (if even any), fast and convenient downloading.

Thanks for the great video. I was thinking of upgrading my Gopro Max for something that would yield better image quality for drone style footage. The Gopro seems rather poor at capturing details. From your comparison, it doesn't look like there is a significant difference to warrant the extra spend, even with the Qoocam, but perhaps with Youtube's compression, I'm not seeing things very accurately. In your experience, does one of these stand out significantly to warrant an upgrade?

I know this ist about the 360 cameras but i stumbled upon the insta360 one r while looking for my first action cam for motorcycle riding and you seem well informed.

Have you compared the 4k module from the one r with hero mode from the max and maybe something like the GoPro Hero 7 or 8?
Would you say they are comparable or is 1 much better?

The 360 is really nice but i dont know how much i would use it so the 4k module would bei pretty important.
