I hate the new design of the photo app. Previous one was way much better. Now I take a screenshot and I’m searching it for a few seconds, before on iOS 17 was in front of me, the same issue with the screen recording, now I’m searching for my video before it was right there ! In my recent photos For me that’s a huge downgrade.

it’s frankly a nightmare trying to use this new app. the person leading this team should be fired. totally disconnected from reality of real users. trying to teach my parents how to use this is going to be A NIGHTMARE

I hate it. The select button in the upper right hand corner is way too small. I always miss it with my finger. Most of my photos interactions is that selecting the select button to delete a number of the temporary photos I just took. I don’t like how my photo gallery only goes to half of the screen. Also, don’t like how screenshot photos are zoomed out to show the entire thing and there’s a huge border.

the photos app is awful, I hate it, try and filter by photos only, not possible, under albums media types you can filter by every type accept photos? wtf its called photos app..

This sounds like an absolute NIGHTMARE to take photos to different albums. The old tabs were useful, since I could search and then on albums tab I could quickly throw photos to many other albums switching back and forth between tabs, and I can’t do it with this one…if their whole idea is “customization”, at least let me customize it to make my experience the most efficient as possible.

I only ever use Albums and Recently Deleted. I've never been interested in what some algorithm thinks I need to see. So removing the bottom tab bar is massively negative. Apple: add stuff, don't take it away.

Why in the Flippin heck did Apple spend any time changing the Photos app which was absolutely perfect as it was. All of the engineers working on changing that app should have been put on intelligence. That’s where Apple needs to put every spare person with the knowledge to work on it.

I hate it because the camera roll disappeared. I can’t even customize it to show the camera roll as an album. There’s no option

The worst part about this design is that I can no longer easily switch between 2 sets of photos.

Before I would have one photo open in my library section and another photo open in my albums section and I can easily switch between the 2 without having to scroll between one and the other. Same thing goes with viewing photos in the camera roll alongside those which are in the hidden or deleted album. Now since I gotta scroll down to view albums, everytime I want to switch between these 2 photos I have to scroll down to the albums section then scroll all the way back up and re-find the photo in the main section and do this over and over again

I am in an eternal search for a smartphone that does one simple thing: moves NOT COPIES photos from camera roll (or whatever main bucket is called) to an album so you can keep the main bucket clean. So far, every phone I've used, across Apple and Android, only copies into albums. Any suggestions?
