As a videographer I can say the new video playback is so dumb and frustrating to use. The video scrub was so perfect before

The new app sucks! It’s the worst ever.
Now instead of optimising screen space to see my carefully curated photos in albums, half the screen is taken up by ugly grey boxes with the names of folders that used to neatly sit beneath the photos.
Maybe it’s finally time to try Android…

Doesn’t matter what you do it’s still worse than the old version.

Somewhere in an Apple Design Team meeting, that quiet insightful person that no one listens to, but is usually right, is quietly feeling smug thinking ‘I told you assholes it was a fail and looked like someone’s 5 year old oversaw the changes’.

To that person, enjoy that ‘I told you so’ moment.

Rearranging things doesn't help. Previously you could scroll your photos, then jump across to a shared album, then come back _and you were where you left off._ Sticking everything in one huge long scrolling list is an absolute usability travesty. Not to mentioned auto-looping videos, you can't scrub in fullscreen, it's just a disaster.

Photos update is the second worst update, the first one is Mobile Data, Hotspot, WiFi & Bluetooth toggles.

It's still suck tbh ... especially for people who sync photos from their macbooks. Now all the photos are at the same place making everything chaotic. Before it was a separation between your sync photos and the photos you actually took or saved via your phone in the recent folder. Apple better add the camera roll back or simply add filter to hide sync photos on the main gallery.

Basically there is no Recents anymore, which was likely the view most people lived in. Recently saved does not even include photos. So now there is no way to just see your recent photos, as the top default grid has synced album photos intermixed. Absurd! I’m right on the edge of returning my 16, thankfully kept iOS 17 on my ok device.

The iOS 18 Photos App is HORRIBLE!!! Your suggestions help somewhat, but I still had to dig down into all of these stupid new categories to find "Favorites" - Why the heck is Favorites so hidden??? This is the worst part of the iOS 18 update. I'm so disappointed in Apple.

Its disgusting what they did to the ui, i cant even use the photo app without feeling anger and annoyance.
I set it as a 3x3 grid, just photos/albums and people and still looks atrocious
