This is the ideal starter amp. All the basic features you need for it to work great on stock head units and aftermarket alike. 130W bridged doesn't seem like a lot, but for an efficient subwoofer it is PLENTY if you just want accurate low frequency fill-in.

Buy two of them and run each amp in stereo mode. The output goes to 130w per channel. If you get the 6704 which is $30 more then you get 190w per channel in stereo.

Pioneer always makes quality products that have accurate ratings. If you bought the cheapy Boss, planet audio or power acoustik equivalent it'd make a quarter of the rated power.

I can attest, it does not blow your hair back.. Its good for a sailboat ... or a library. 

I installed it on a Catalina 27 with a couple Fusion compact box speakers and a bazooka 6" tube for a 3 channel set up. After using the DD1 and the CC1, it really was pretty weak on volume Its a $200 amp and thats exactly what you get. The Kenwood Excelon 302-4 is slightly more $$ but is louder for sure.

thanks for the test. Keep pumping out these a dynos. They are invaluable for consumers. Just curious, are you loading down the rear channels on these amps when testing them. The test won't be accurate if all channels aren't loaded

Hey guys. I have a 2017 F150 with a factory 8 inch head unit. I just installed for Focal (Rex-165) coaxial speakers I’d like to add a sub and a amplifier if needed. Just not sure where to where to connect speakers. Do I have to run them over to the head unit or can I tie them in the kick panel? perhaps you have a video showing something like that with the existing head unit radio and adding an amp and sub. Don’t need much just maybe enough to get a little bass…PS. Great channel great information thank you.

I have the pioneer GM-A6704 4-Channel Amplifier. I will will be using it as 3 channel in my workvan, My 2 front speakers and a subwoofer. My radio is Jensen CAR710W. This radio has 3 Pairs of 4V preamp outputs (F/R/S). Where should I connect the rca for my sub? Should I use the rear channel or the ones labeled subwoofer. Also, the radio is kind of unusual how they label the subwoofer preamp outputs. They are labeled as subwoofer 1 and subwoofer 2. I am used to seeing (L/R). Please advise. Thanks much...
