I haven't played in a band in 25 years and I don't miss it. Actually I found it very restrictive on my guitar playing as I was spending a lot of time playing simple 'popular' songs when I could have spent more time playing classical guitar or solos. And as much as a guitarist would love to do a fretburning solo over 'Walking On Sunshine', no one else in the band thought it was cool, lol.

My last band had ALL of this problems, bringing girlfriends to the practice, the drug guy, the guy that plays their instrument when we are talking something important, the guy who says "I didn't have enough time"... and guess what!... I'm talking about the same guy.
