Maybe move one of the large cacti like the cylindripuntia tree into that spot where the juniper is. You wanted the height there but you will e
Be able to set it further from the wall

I would suspect something in the soil is stopping the Santa rita taking up water Ana 🤔 The new growth is taking it out of the old pads. I had an Opuntia monacantha that was shrivelling up in the bed because it still had peat around the roots from the garden centre which had dried out and wouldn't rehydrate 😮🌵🌵

Oh Ana, your garden is envyable for sure. My cacti have bloomed and finished for the summer :( waaaa. I would thin out the end on the left of the Juniper bush and plant some of them in place of it. They look lovely but they may enjoy more room? Or, maybe you can move the Cylindropuntia in it's place? Just move it out from the wall. If you can, make an expanded area for it where the Juniper is. Such a beautiful garden. I wish my cacti were as blemish free as yours. So jealous Ana! LOL!! You're so lucky to live in the desert. Thanks for sharing! Happy growing.

If you move the juniper bush, Eve’s Needle could be relocated there!

lol . If I listen to the whole video before saying anything. I’m so happy for that change.

Glad you are getting rid of the juniper...can't wait for all the blooms and the transformation!!!

Here in Australia, the eve's needle cactus is classed as a weed as being dangerous for animals and birds, also illegal to grow it or sell it.

I would remove the juniper and use the space to move some of the other crowded cacti or even move the eve’s needle there. If not, move it somewhere else, it would be a pity to get rid of it. I like the idea of pots against the back wall or more gardens there. If it were me, I would use every inch that I can find to plant more! Can’t wait to see what you do.

I’m amazed at how deep the colors are on the cacti! They look really healthy. Did you find the extra rain to be beneficial?
One option in both of those spaces is to find medium size trees so there would be a small canopy to give light shade. Maybe citrus? It would still give you room to plant or to set out pots.
It’ll be exciting to see the next phase! Hope you (and we in Arizona) have a mild summer with a good monsoon. 💚 🌵 💚

Ana that bush needs to be moved somewhere else in your yard so you can extend your garden. I think you said your husband likes it. Then give him a job Lol, he can find some where else to grow.

That cactus your thinking of moving will get huge I had one it got 8 ft. High it will get at least 10 ft.

The Opuntia that needs to be moved could be relocated to where the Bush is currently, or the other cactus that you mentioned will need to be moved from your "flowering " garden.
You could plant some of the Opuntia pads around the front of either one you choose for some pop of color.

Hi! Ms. Ana thank you for sharing your cactus garden❤❤❤

My Opuntia aurea is about 7 feet across. I think it is going to be hard to contain it in the space it is in now. It has beautiful big pink flowers now and the pads are purple in winter. I’d move it into the palm tree garden where it has room to run.

Nice update, Ana 😊 I can't give any advice on your desert garden as I've no experience with them, but I'm sure whatever you decide on will be the right choice 😊 Thank you for sharing with us as always. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌺🌸🌼☕

Your garden is looking amazing! I wonder if the Santa Rita is getting too hot near the wall. I have one in a pot and it thrives even in our 100° + temps. I have c strausii and they seem to rot easily with too much water. I lost a few this year due to too much rain. They seem fine here with our 32° f occasional nights. The Eves needle has the potential to get massive quickly! Maybe put it where the juniper bush is. I love the elephant in your garden ❤

I think the cholla should replace the juniper bush. It could give some shade.

I absolutely LOVE your Cactus gardens Ana :-D and WOW with all the buds on your Opuntias, your big Opuntia subulata is AWESOME, if you do decide to move it maybe you could move your subulata where your Juniper bush is, and the Trichocereus growing against the wall would be INCREDIBLE, thanks so much for sharing the amazing Spring update on your beautiful Cactus gardens with us Ana, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and PLANT POWER to Las Vegas for a fantastic new week XXXX <3
