AOC Rips Republicans For Refusing To Censure GOP Rep. Gosar Over Violent Video

The U.S. House of Representatives voted Tuesday to censure GOP Rep. Paul Gosar and strip him of committee assignments. He has refused to apologize and after the vote he retweeted an animated video on social media where he murders Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacks President Joe Biden.  Speaking from the House floor before the vote, @AOC blasted Republicans voting against Gosar's censure, saying, “This is not about me. This is not about Representative Gosar. This is about what we are willing to accept.”

I've seen some people complaining about how Kathy Griffin was savaged by Republicans after her Trump photo came out, and yet now they're completely silent about Gosar. But, to be fair, Gosar is a GOP CONGRESSMAN. As such, he's expected to act like a completely reckless and irresponsible idiot. Kathy Griffin, on the other hand, is a COMEDIAN, therefore, she has NO EXCUSE for that sort of behavior.

It blows my mind the way the Republicans (and American politics) act sometimes. The Conservatives here in the UK are an awful party but I can't imagine them doing something like tweet an animation of a fellow politician being murdered (or certainly not doing something like that and still have colleagues support them), it seems par for the course for some Repubs though. American politics is sinking lower and lower and with there only being 2 parties and 1 of those parties having pulled the USA extremely far to the right (especially since the 80s) I'm not optimistic for the future-it wouldn't be so bad if America didn't have so much military/economic/diplomatic and cultural influence but they do and so what happens there can effect a good part of the world
