I feel like I've taken my life to beyond failure sometimes, I'm just that much of a beast

its funny to see people do a "working set" of 8-12 but it looks like a warm up

Dang, glad you said this clearly. What they taught me at school and what a trainer at my university at least implicitly gave was about the same amount of reps each set. If you can do the same amount thrice, the first set was over 3 RIR.

Im glad i work out at home. Dont need people judging me on anything i do, unless its form thats dumb. Form thats comfortable is a different story

Going to the gym is like doing a number 2 if you don't make funny faces it wasn't worth your time 😂

Thanks for making this distinction between "not needing to train to failure, " and actually training hard.

When I heard Mike say this on the full video, it dramatically changed my idea of RPE 7.0, or 3 RIR.

I worked out at my home gym for years, Always trained till i felt fainting or puke out (happened both) then i switched to commercial gym and i noticed that nobody train with that intensity, i think is more of a social fear to be judged

I get so much good shit from you. Been going to failure with my sets and its been giving me great hypertrophy 😊

I usually do 3 and 4 sets with max weight, then drop the weight to half and do 10 more reps (total 20) and then finally do the last failure reps slowly.

3RIR IS warmup to me! 🙄 I always do all worksets to 0-1RIR, maybe sometimes 2RIR. Actually some of my warmups are even 1-2RIR... 'cos I usually do as many reps on a given weight until it starts to get hard, which is at 1-2RIR. 3RIR would still be easy peasy!

Because of how much I hate myself, I try to go to failure every time. However, because I don't get enough sleep or eat as much as I should, I am small. Oh well

I see this so much at the gym. To be fair I work out at a YMCA but still. People will pump out 12 reps all at the same speed and be like ok I’m done. I can’t talk too much though, I’ve only been working out for 1.5 years with a couple months off due to two separate injuries so I’m no expert.
