We have a phrase in the States: Stay Strapped or Get Clapped. I recommend ALL campers carry a weapon. Even if it's wasp spray with a 75 foot range.

Sam handled that situation the worst way anyone could’ve ever handled it. That is why you always carry a gun, a very powerful light source and a big dog if possible. He was letting them know how scared he was, which was foolish as well. He’s lucky he made it out alive!

ooof. Barely 20 minutes in, and I gotta tell you: creepy human contact/conflict sets me so much more on edge. I'm just in my bed and the first clip has my gut so knotted up in anxiety, I might as well be there. I'm not done watching, but I really hope this guy is okay. I can't say if it's brave or stupid of him to have ignored his own gut feelings.

Trust your gut. There's nothing truly lost in foregoing/postponing your plans.

edit: I used to go camping a ton as a child (9 and under) with my mom, her boyfriend at the time and his son (15), sometimes a family friend or two and their kids.
There was only 1 time where it was just the main 4 of us, and I guess our parents got a bad vibe from a guy that kept coming around our campsite. I don't remember much, just that he kept trying to invite himself to join us and get more personal information that, honestly probably wouldn't have been so alarming if he hadn't been so pushy.
I, of course, didn't think anything of it. Even now, I'm not really sure he meant anything bad but I guess it was better to be safe than sorry, especially if you have kids with you.

edit 2: The last video. It's so incredibly sad, to say the least, that such a beautiful and tranquil place and experience is utterly ruined by the presence of a maniac. That's so freaking terrifying. I think the guy has more videos after this, so it's great that, if this is real, this horrifying experience didn’t rob him of his joy and interest in exploring nature. Strong and brave guy.

Unknown people in the woods at night especially are so much scarier than any ghost could ever be. I'd never go off the grid camping without proper gear and that includes multiple self defense items for people and large predators. Any person who doesn't announce themselves in the dark is there for nothing good in my mind.

I will never understand why people hear a crazy ass noise in the middle of the woods at night and immediately turn on a flash light to illuminate the inside of their tent?! All they are doing is creating a glowing target in the middle of pitch darkness. It's so unbelievably stupid.
