As usual, this approach is not a silver bullet but a promising and potentially world-changing method… especially when collocation of renewables is leveraged. Great video.

Wondering what's the cost and possible impacts on the marine environment (e.g., microalgae bloom from adding silicate to ocean? changes of natural habitats?)

So we know how to do this. But the question is are we going to move in a direction to really put this to use.

This mega approach of getting governments and industry to cooperate seems to be headed for being a great place where good ideas go to die. The economics is a matter of business design. Make a small experiment like a floating barge that is an entertainment venue and charge a fee for tying up your sail boat and eating at the high rise restaurant and see what happens. The instant approach is making the perfection the enemy of the good.

I think by making artificial iland in the ocean and planting trees 🌲 all over can be done I am not that educated but plant need carbon dioxide and if there is no human in the iland than the plant absorb carbon dioxide from sea is that possible 😂
