I think she's talking about how everyone thinks Korea is like a Drama, but its not.

She was struggling to explain it in English, but she's essentially saying that Korea isn't this "paradise" that koreaboos think it is. Which should be obvious because NO country in the the world is free from problems.

i think people overly romanticize korea based off the kdramas they watch and it's always a culture shock when they go and nothing is exactly like what you see on TV, this is why you RESEARCH before traveling to any place you've never been to 😭😭

Hello, what she said is a French expression "La vie en rose". La vie est belle : Life in pink. Life is beautiful . It means to be optimistic and happy, because you see life in Pink and all the beautiful things. It's also an old romantic love song by Edith Piaf.

It's a damn shame the guy didn't understand her speaking metaphorically. "la vie en rose" and "la vie est belle" basically mean life like a dream, like a Disney happy ever after, like a fairytale, not literally pink.

Seoul is nice but overrated. Busan and Gangwondo underrated beauty.

She's gorgeous. Haven't been to Korea yet, but when I do go, I will not expect it to be like K-Dramas, and I will not be looking for Jungkook.

It’s the same with Paris. Like there’s an actual syndrome (affects Japanese tourists the most). They are sold this idea that Paris is gorgeous and lovely and clean and full of love and art and it’s just a regular city. And I think that’s what she means. We are sold in dramas that Korea is perfect and beautiful and all the people are gorgeous and pretty but it’s just like any other place.

It's same when people judge India based on what they see in Bollywood movies and then come here and baaam!😅

Before I visited Korea, I had heard mixed reviews from several people, so I basically had no idea what to expect. I only spent 2 weeks there, but had a very positive experience and was very impressed. Just the subway system alone was enough to win me over. The transfer jingle has a special place in my heart 😆

I’m a huge K-pop fan and when I came to Korea last year I remember I felt so unimpressed the first days. I mean of course I knew that Korea isn’t like they show in dramas (especially since i lived in Korea when I was little) but apparently I still had some weird pre consumptions. After a few days I finally felt like I could really enjoy Korea as it is!

I get what she’s saying how you shouldn’t romanticize countries. No place is perfect, but girl… you’ve only been to Korea for 2 days AND the “worse” parts at that, like what?? I guess she was hit with the reality.. 😭

She is most likely French because her French sounded very natural.

I mean The fact that people actually expect the country to be as perfect as in K dramas is a ridiculous misconception, you are not 10 years old 😂
