For more than 40 years, no one could put a name to this face. Now, thanks to new DNA testing they can. This is 17-year-old Tammy Corrine Terrell from Roswell, New Mexico. In 1980, when Terrell’s body was found off the side of a road in Henderson, Nevada, detectives couldn’t identify her and called her Jane “Arroyo Grande” Doe. “Now we're only halfway there. Now the pursuit of Tammy's killer or killers begins,” said Capt. Jonathan Boucher with the Henderson Police Department.

It's fascinating to see how much artistic renderings can look like the person's actual image. RIP Tammy <3

Can you imagine wondering for 40 years if your kid is dead or still alive in human trafficking in some random country or even your own.. It’s sick really because for all those years they had the slightest bit of hope that your loved one is still alive out there somewhere.. man I feel for the family may she Rest In Peace

She was found because her sisters took a DNA test for a family history site, it makes me sad to think about how many people could be found/identified if people weren’t so scared to put themselves out there.

I’m glad she’s finally been identified. It’s heartbreaking when someone goes unidentified and nameless especially when they’re so young.

Rest easy Tammy.

Finding her killer(s) is going to be tough. She's from New Mexico, but last seen alive in Texas with an unknown man and woman with no additional leads. Best of luck to the detectives.

I must have missed the part about how they actually identified her? Obviously DNA, but did they work through some of the DNA testing companies to make a match to family?
