I lately finished Doppelganger too. Fantastic book. Naomi Klein is such an intelligent writer and so skilled in connecting the dots. Loved it!

Doppelgänger arrived for me at the library on the eve of my last trip so I returned it half read. Thanks for the enthusiastic reread response. Have just reordered it. Also your enthusiasm for Siri Hustvedt has prompted me to order my first for her. I thought I was in the midst of rereading because I am feeling nostalgic for books I enjoyed/loved years ago. Finding it really satisfying to revisit Catherine McKinnon’s Storyland among others.

I am definitely adding Doppelganger to my list, if both you and Heidi liked it, chances are I will too.
Glad to see I'm not the only one with weird coughing out of nowhere. It's a part of aging I'm not a fan of.

I’m glad to have heard your opinion on Nightbitch, I’ve been interested in it but wasn’t sure about it. I’m so interested in trying Siri Hustvedt’s books. I’ve been watching videos where she talks about different things and she’s so fascinating and intelligent. Glad you put Mothers, Fathers, and Others on my radar! I’m also looking forward to your final thoughts on The Summer Without Men.

I need to look into the Real Charlotte. I also like to read Irish writers. Doppelganger definitely sounds interesting but I just couldn't read about Steve Bannon, especially this close to the election.

What? I was unaware Naomi Wolf went off in a conspiracy direction. It makes me sad. The Beauty Myth was seminal.

I absolutely despised Nightbitch. I would have thrown it across the room if it hadn't been a library book.
I agree that the book never came together. I also feel that the animal cruelty brought nothing to the story. I feel the author was trying too hard to write "edgy" and that attempt fell disturbingly flat
