Australian Defence Force School of Special Operations instructors put around 50 aspiring Special Operations Force candidates through the Special Forces Entry Test at Holsworthy Barracks in Sydney. Special Operations Force includes special forces soldiers as well as doctors, nurses, medics, signallers, engineers, logisticians, intelligence analysts, and other key personnel who closely support special operations.

Candidates aiming to become Special Forces soldiers within the Special Air Service Regiment or the 1st or 2nd Commando Regiments need to pass the Special Forces Entry Test including physical and cognitive tests and meet discipline, ethical, and performance requirements before being invited to attempt one of two three-week-long special forces selection courses conducted each year.

Impressive. They’re very strict and deliberate in the way the exercises must be performed and is similar to the way it’s done with the British.

Thank you Peter Dutton for removing the feminising ads and putting real recruitment ads in.

If I identify as a woman, can I just skip all the hard stuff including Kapooka, and get my wings from Angus Campbell personally?

NZ does this as well, everyone SF does varying stages of selection (obviously NZSAS do the whole thing) and then branches off into their own respective finishing courses. Even enablers have to do the first part to be supporties as well as EOD. No different to everyone doing basic together then going off and doing your individual corp training. Sets the base standard required/needed to serve in the SOF unit as a whole irrespective of originating unit or intended role, just like basic training sets you up for the army not your actual trade.
