I've tried to have this exact conversation with young people of today. They are 100% convinced they would have fought slavery all the way back in history and would never have been raising a hand with a heil, bc they "just would have known" . All bc they think their generation is lightyears ahead of us in knowledge.

It's natural for young people to think they're smarter, but with this generation they come with an extreme level of ego, anger, & narcissism that causes them to have zero respect for older wisedom, no understanding of actual history, the natural order, and they intentionally reject common sense.

Fun Historical facts:
The Dahomey people, on which the movie, "The Woman King" is based, were a savage, brutal people in West Africa, who waged war against neighboring African countries, and sold captive men, women and children to Europeans as slaves.
They also kept captives AS slaves to work the royal plantations. They also used prisoners of war in human ceremonial sacrifices to their Dahomey kings. Up to 500 people were sacrificed at any given time.
When The British Empire attempted to end slave trade, The Dahomey actually defied them in order to PRESERVE slave trade.

I’m of Filipino ethnicity and a couple years ago I visited the Ayala museum in Makati Manila. In doing so, I came across the Boxer codex exhibition and I was surprised to see that pre-Spanish times, indigenous Filipinos enslaved other Filipinos that were from different neighboring tribes. This was usually done after wars or battles. But my point is that this shit has been going on forever and the wokeness needs to really wake the fuck up.

Well, Matt is absolutely right about needing to understand history in context... unfortunately, we would need to start educating people on history FIRST because right now, young people are not getting any education in history or civics (or any subject, really).
