How to Install a Nuc Colony of Bees

Показать описание
Nuc colonies consist of 5 frames (a mixture of plastic and wood) with frames of brood and food. Because brood is present and young bees are emerging, nucs build up faster than packages and need to be transferred into full-size equipment immediately. Installing a 5 frame nucleus colony into your own woodenware is easy! Watch our head beekeeper, Anne, walk you through it step-by-step.

This was another helpful video. I picked up my Nuc box today, and set it next to my hive. I will transfer the bees tomorrow when it’s a little warmer, should be 60 degrees and sunny. Thank you for answering my questions today at the store. This is very exciting for me. First time for bees and looking forward to adding more in the future.

awesome video! thank you for sharing I truly hope one day to join in with doing my part in keeping honey bees. I'm the worst offender on my street for not cutting my grass regularly so that the bees have ample time to feed off my yards. I care about them more than the neighbors and their OCD lawn care. LOL

I got 2 nucs but the frames are medium. I put them in my deep supers anyway. Should I cut them out and put them into a deep sized frame with elastic bands holding it in so that the frames are the right size?
