@TheSword3000 Thank you. This video was initially made to explain the process to someone I know who simply wasn't getting Route Summarization. I feel bad about the audio on the video now that it appears other people are using it. The goal here was to boil route aggregation down to very simple logic.

The whole point of route summary is to group contiguous networks. If a network inside a contiguous group is attached to another interface it does not make sense to try and summarize it with another interface.

You are however correct using this method a summary route would include all addresses between: 172.16.32.1 - 172.16.63.254

If you cannot summarize an entire block due to bad planning you make more then one entry.
172.16.32.1 - 172.16.47.254 = 172.16.32.0 /20
then leave in 172.48 and .49

That looks good, but what if you have network 172.16.32.0 thru 172.16.49.0 ?? if we apply this it will summrize networks up to network 63, what if network 172.16.60.0 was on another interface? wouldn't that create a problem? how to fix that problem? would appreciate anyone who can answer my question.
