Always remember you have the same rights no matter who you deal with. You never lose your rights! In the case where a CPS worker comes to your home they must also have a warrant or court order. If they don't have these things you do not have to talk to them. Learn Your Rights!

****BE SURE TO READ THIS**** For those of you who don't know... whenever a cop ask you why are you shaking they feel like they are putting fear in you. We were taught to look for that in the academy. Many cops become more arrogant after making this statement because they feel like you are scared and they are in control. As soon as this cop realized this man knew his rights he didn't even bother going down that road. That's why I called it tough cop humbled quickly! The why are you shaking questions is also an inside joke in departments as well.

Those 2 CPS workers look like they spend more time at Burger King than working on their jobs.

That CPS worker, should get herself checked.
I suspect a thyroid problem, if not a severe eating disorder and a lack of exercise.
One cannot take care of other peoples children, when one cannot take care of itself.

I had 2 CPS workers fired in Colquitt County because they faked a court order. My sister was going through a nasty divorce and CPS made an unannounced visit at 8 am. She called me and I told her unless they had a court order to not even open the door. The sheriff's department showed up and they didn't have a court order either. So the CPS and the deputies went to a rural intersection about a tenth of a mile a way and sat there for 10 minutes. They returned with a "court order". Only problem is that Moultrie is 22 minutes away, (45 minutes round trip) and that judge was not in chambers that day. I presented the judge with this information and he was not happy. No more visits from CPS ever.

Officer Gonzalez showed absolute class and was knowledgeable about where his authority legally ended. His tone and demeanor was completely professional and respectful I only wish there were more cops like him out there

I live one time in North Chicago Illinois rented apartment CPS came to my door what's a police officer and demanded to see my children only problem is I don't have children. Boy did they look stupid the police told him they need to update their files and leave me alone

As one who is skeptical of some of these interactions, this was fitting and proper. The cop was also well behaved and didn't let his emotions block his common sense. It was handled well by all involved. Any agreement out there?

That cop was pretty cool though. Just sayin. He questioned but didn't push it rudely with attitude. I respect that cop.

Respectful cop from beginning to end, there wasn't anything coming off as tough about this officer.

I appreciate Officer Gonzales's professionalism. He is clearly a good cop and did not get angry or try to manipulate the citizen.

Honestly, this is what I expect to see from the police. He was called to the scene to assist CPS, and to the extent that the law allows, he did. The cop was respectful the whole time, and he backed off quickly when the citizen exercised his rights. This is the kind of professional, respectful attitude I expect to see from the police. I wouldn't say this cop was humbled. I was say that he was already humble/professional. I don't praise cops very often, but I like how this one handled this situation and himself.

He is a lot calmer than I would have been. The cop was very good but cps workers are some of the most underhanded self entitled bastards I have ever seen.
