What If Vegeta unlocked Super Saiyan Blue Evolution against Goku Black in the Future Trunks Arc?

The Dragon Ball Super anime had backed itself into a corner before the Tournament of Power in terms of narrative and relative character power. While most of Dragon Ball Super tries to be about Goku and Vegeta being true rivals for the first time in the series - both at each other’s level of power after the Battle of Gods Arc - the anime writing staff decided to remove that nuance from the series by giving Goku the ability to stack Kaioken on top of his Super Saiyan Blue form. As if that wasn’t enough, they allowed him to multiply it up to 10 times - making the power gap between Goku and Vegeta a seemingly permanent one. To rectify this, they first made Goku seem idiotic by not using Kaioken at all in the Future Trunks Arc except for once against Merged Zamasu - when they realized that was equally poor writing quality they decided to power up Vegeta instead by giving him Super Saiyan Blue Evolution in the Tournament of Power and later confirmed it to be equal to Goku’s Kaioken times 20 Super Saiyan Blue. This leaves me with an interesting question. What if this fix came in earlier? What If Vegeta unlocked Super Saiyan Blue Evolution in the Future Trunks Arc?

4:40 - 4:50 its explicitly stated in the series that Merged Zamasu was in another league from Black. Goku only did so well in the beam clash because he used his own life energy to bolster his attack like Tien did vs Cell, and it cost him the use of his arms.

I like that Broly made Goku much creative and even intelligent, while technically putting Vegeta on an even playing field. Given that SSBE is a transformation; it can be accessed voluntarily. Again, neither use their comparable transformations or techniques in the film itself.

Goku didn’t use Blue Kaio-ken because of what happened to him after his battle with Hit. King Kai explained that due to that battle, Goku couldn’t control his Ki simply because he tried something extremely risky he didn’t train with much with or master at that point in a battle of little consequences. After the ZMP Saga ended, Goku properly trained with Blue Kaio-ken and his body didn’t have to suffer any life threatening effects from it.
