This should help students have some clarity regarding shading 'intersections' and 'unions' for set A, B and C.

The trick is to always shade first part of the question i.e. in (A⋂B)uC shade A⋂B first, then C, and find union. Finally area that intersects/overlaps is the answer when asked for intersections.
