Hale Irwin, super-legend. Winnest Senior Tour player of all time! 20 Career wins on the PGA, I think that's still life time exemption. 3 U.S. Opens, and holds the record as the oldest to ever win it at age 45!! He won his last regular tour event at age 49. One of only 5 players to win on 6 different continents. Too many accomplishments in the game of golf to list. At 74 years old, he still played and made the cut in 3 tournaments in 2019. One of the most under rated great players of all time!!

On a nice tight lie: Never allow the clubhead to get ahead of the hands or else you're dead. Weight is always on your front foot.

Seems like the point of opening the face is to reduce the chance of the leading ledge sticking into the tight lie. It's using the hosel as a guard. Brilliant.

Interesting, as I intentionally use the bounce to great success at my 9 hndc level of course. I'm thinking he's using the bounce judiciously, not eliminating it.

so many ways to hit that shot. This is just one, I suppose it's on the easier side. I'd hit a 64 like a putter, might even get the head in front of the hands at impact to get more loft. Hitting down gives you less backspin, does it hit it up? Maybe, sometimes, but not all the time. I prefer to hit something slightly fat using the swing arc and loft, than risk hitting down.

This is not a difficult shot under the circumstances as you are playing it of a slight uphill lie to an elevated green Stevie Wonder could play that shot give us one from a down hill or ball below the feet tight lie that is a true test from a tight lie. ?
