[3DS] How To Upgrade/Downgrade To a Specific Firmware

Today I'll be showing you how to upgrade or downgrade your 3DS to a specific firmware WITHOUT a game cart or flashcart. I've put 3DNUS and sysUpdater all in one zip so you don't need to download more than 1 file. This will update or downgrade whatever NAND you installed it to, so be careful.

THIS DOESN'T WORK ON GATEWAY MODE! YOU'LL BRICK YOUR 3DS! Use a CFW or other method.

---TUTORIAL---
1. Start 3DNUS.
2. Enter your firmware in the "Title ID" box and your region in the "version" box.
3. Make sure "Pack as .CIA" is checked and click "Download."
4. Copy everything inside the sysUpdater folder to the root of your SD Card.
5. Copy all the CIAs downloaded from 3DNUS into the "updates" folder. The CIAs can be found inside a folder within the 3DNUS folder.
6. Eject your SD Card and insert it into your 3DS.
7. Install the CIA to your system.
a) It updates whatever NAND it is installed on. If installed on emuNAND it updates emuNAND. If installed on sysNAND it updates sysNAND.
7. Start the app and follow the instructions.

This can also be used as a downgrade tool; it's not strictly an upgrade tool.

Update: There is now an official means of downgrading from sysnand firmware version 10.X.X down to 9.9.X. Hence, even those who had their units updated may be able to install CFW in their units.

I have done everything in this video and I have now put the SD card into the old 3ds but it doesn't show sysupdater. Can you downgrade without custom firmware and if not then how do you get the custom firmware

I'm on sys 4.2.0-9U. I normally use gateway for games and such. I got GW10.5. I want to update my system to 9.2.

Should I boot into rxtools cfw and install the cia for the update to 9.2?

I was running 10.3, planning to go down to 9.2, threw all those 9.2 .cias on my sd card, cram that shit into my 3ds, start up menuhax, go to sysupdater, press Y, let everything install, wait more than ten seconds, do a hard reset, go to Settings to check version

Can I use this to go from firmware 10.3.0-28U to anything below it? I got alpha sapphire recently and I want to be able to get Pokemon through QR codes, but it doesn't work past ver. 9.7. Is it possible?

I have a question. My 3DS was Homebrewed on 11.3 and I want to access online features, but however I have to do a system update and because I have Homebrew... I don't really know what to do. Would it be wise to wait it out or find out some way to update my firmware?
