My pet rats are so smart they can recognise my voice over the phone, and they absolutely do experience grief just like us. One of mine lost his brother to cancer, and he reacted exactly like a bereaved human: he lost interest in the things he used to love, went off his food, and spent most of his time asleep or staring miserably at the wall. And then one day he just lay down and died despite showing no signs of physical illness. He didn't want to live without his brother. 😥

The red fox 🦊 surprised me the most. I learned once that a red fox would confuse its tracks and find other places to hide in, misleading the hunter! That is clever thinking.

At my university, I saw a squirrel wait for a car to stop before crossing the cross walk... the only squirrel I’ve ever seen that crossed a road wisely.

also the dolphins will sometimes litteraly save swimmers by surrounding him so sharks or other predator can't get to them

My family used to have a rat problem at our old house, so we set traps out for them, traps with patches of strong adhesive. Sometimes they would work, other times we would find the adhesive covered with bits of debris like seeds and sawdust so the rats could walk over them without getting stuck.
