I read the Article on the incident. The owner of the company is Melvin Schmucker. The company is called Double M Roofing. The 14 year old boy fell 30 feet without any safety equipment. As far as I could tell, the boy actually survived, but was in critical condition. The company/owner tried to cover up the working conditions, but was subsequently caught by a neighbors security camera. The company was fined $75, 000 and cited by OSHA. After doing some research it appears the company in Ohio is still in business to this day and that is the story. The other comments are made up. The boys name was never released because of his age. As far as I could tell, he pulled through his injuries and survived.

My friend lost her younger brother to a roofing accident. He fell two stories and spent 4 months in the hospital in a vegetative state due to brain bleeds. His parents had to make the hard decision to take him off life support. It’s really sad, he was in his early 20’s and so full of life.

I'm a full grown 6' 2" man, career contractor, and I would not do that for/to anybody. Mad respect for the kid, absolute disgrace for the ass that loaded him up with 5, most guys only carry 1 at a time.

I am a roofer and those Owens Corning shingles are about 65 pounds apiece that’s 325 pounds. He’s carrying on his shoulders. He’s probably 125 pounds. I am honestly impressed. Hope he’s all right. He’ll be a savage ass roofer one day.
