"People are strange: they are constantly angered by trivial things, but on a major matter like totally wasting their lives, they hardly seem to notice."

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been through this thought process.

This channels literally relieves all my anxieties and worries. It reminds me I'm not the only one struggling through life.

Self-compassion really should come first. Because if we do understand the overflowing absurdity and we're still not compassionate towards our own selves, there's no way we'll ever be willing to understand others.

What makes it even harder is that it becomes a habit - that instinct of anger, irritation, hatred - and that habit appears before we get to reflect on it, making us act in ways in which we really don't want to act. When we act out of that habit, we're mad at ourselves, and then, accordingly, we're mad at the world. It becomes a cycle.

What a coincidence this video appears in my recommended just as I was going through an episode of angry, hateful and distressing thoughts. Sometimes I feel as though humanity should just disappear, and everything will finally be in a halcyon state of being; no more suffering, no more lies, no more abuse, no more bullying, and most importantly no more loneliness.

"Although it can, and at times it almost certainly should be, compassion need not be sinonimous with what might generally be considered agreeableness. Rather, the compassion to hear or suggest a sympathetic understanding of other's lack of agreeableness."

I think that very few people are genuinely evil, most are confused. We all just have conflicting ideas of what is right and wrong.

Humans have always, by nature, been tribalistic and so we like to see the other side as evil, but when we try and understand others, we see that we're all not that different.

I am 14 and I have been watching them for awhile now. My parents are kind to me but tbh this channel, i’ve been using it to become the person I want to be. The narrator reminds me of my brother who is my biggest role-model. I want to live my life the way my brother and this channel shows me. You, the pursuit of wonder are one of my biggest role models in life.

how are you so wise? I am constantly floored by the depth of your insights... and moved. To have such an impact on someones life in the span of an 8 minute video is truly impressive

This should be taught to children. I think if I were to answer the question “what do you want to be when you grow up” I would answer more compassionate.

I am ridiculously glad that I subscribed to this channel. Rare to find people who will do the effort of openly discussing the hand behind the curtain, rather than the curtain itself. Thank you.
