I looked up the average temperature in Tokyo in December - and it's in the high 40s - so if you are not from California, and are used to the cold - you probably won't need to dress quite as warmly as Kimmy suggests here!
I don't ever bother to wear a coat till it gets in the teens, so I would definitely overheat if I wore all that and it was 49 degrees!
This is not to knock on Kimmy by the way - I really enjoyed this blog, and I don't even celebrate Christmas - just thought it was interesting how differently people experience weather depending on what they are acclimated to!
