I’m so glad I got to see her perform a concert or Clara Schumann and Florence Price a year ago. Her playing is so vibrant and breathtaking, I was left in tears. Talking with her briefly after the concert was great. She is truly a kind human being.

This title reads as click-bait because at no point in the short did she say anytbing about Price being better than Rachmaninoff. Lovely short and informational video outside of that.

I don't know, but I think she (the pianist and presenter) is a very fun and communicative person who makes the absolute maximum of that music, on a nice piano in nice acoustics. From what I saw of the score, I think it would sound less like Rachmaninoff if I played it, particularly on my own piano. I love the way she controls the flow of the music at a high level to great effect. 🙂

I love Price's music for sure
but Rachmaninoff is the god of piano to me, no composer, dead or alive could overtake his level of virtuosity and mastery.

I note your fingers are quite short yet you play so fluently! My fingers are even shorter (I am a man), and I have difficulty, whereas you surpass this, seemingly with ease.

Q: How do I get to Carnegie Hall?
A: Practice.

I attended a concert in Santa rosa california with this pianist playing a florence price concerto. It was fabulous.

What piece is being played here? Sounds beautiful

Price is certainly long underrated, but… no, she is not better than Rachmaninoff. And, if we are perceptive, placing Price beside Rachmaninoff for lushness and color is to immediately betray other, decidedly less musical forces at work.

I really love what she said at the end there. Inspiring to someone who aspires to compose like I do.

I think you are the very first black person that I see talking about classical piano playing. I will make sure to subscribe.

I was too unfocused as a child to see what those piano lessons would mean as an adult.
