As the great figure rises he strides slowly towards you, a smile slowly spreading across his face. With every step, a great ghostly orchestra plays music so moving that it makes the very air around you shiver and dance.

“Do you hear that?” He asks. He raises a hand to his ear, a slow smile forming.

“THAT is my weapon. Every strum of a violin is the slice of a sword, every tinkle of a piano key the falling of arrows, the thunderous beating of the drums a war hammer. With every strike of my fingers it is the great crashing of thunder that shakes the air. My music made physical manifestation; the beating of your heart, the shallow breath that fills and empties your lungs. It surrounds you, it fills you.”


With every step of the mighty composer the ghostly music swells in intensity. His hands move through the air, the spectral music following in tune to his movements; a commander of sound. He is not a mere maker of music, you think. He IS music.

As he stands before you, the waves of beautiful noise rolling off of him, all you can do is to kneel in his presence, a mere mortal before a god. As you bow your head in respect you flinch as you feel a hand upon your shoulder, gentle yet powerful as the crashing of waves upon the shoreline. And then, you feel it. The music; it becomes a part of you. Now you can feel what the mighty composer felt as he created those masterpieces. You feel your soul has transcended this earthly realm and attained a higher plane of existence. THIS was the power of music; the power of Beethoven.

You finally understand what this god of music means. As tears of joy roll down your face, he speaks.

“Well done my acolyte.” Notes of pride of in his voice fill your soul, stoking the very fires within you.

“What you have created here will transcend barriers and the boundaries of space and time. Mere mortal men shall weep at its beauty and you, YOU will be seen for what you have created.”
