Tamboti Bush Lodge is in the Heart of the Dinokeng Game Reserve.
When you walk down the entrance to Tamboti Bush Lodge you already sense that this is no ordinary lodge in the bush, you get to feel the love and attention that owners Derrick and Pixie Cochran have given to their lodge - a real home from home. The gardens and lawns are a delight with a forest of Tamboti trees flanked by a canopy of Paper bark and Monkey thorn trees packed with birds. Tamboti Bush Lodge is one of the founder lodges of the Dinokeng Game Reserve. The Lodge has been open for over 11 years and a lot of experience has been put into the lodge, Dinokeng Game Reserve is the only Game Reserve with free roaming big five in Gauteng. The area is malaria free and is only one hour’s drive from Johannesburg and for overseas guests the same distance from OR Tambo International Airport. The N1 Highway takes you to just 6 kms from the game reserve gates and 10 kms from Tamboti Bush Lodge.
In the reserve there is a self-drive route currently of about 75 kms. Guided game drives can also be booked at Tamboti Bush Lodge. There is an a la carte restaurant at Tamboti, open 7 days a week, booking is advisable, but not critical. Pop in for breakfast before you take to the Dinokeng Self Drive Route or come for brunch afterwards. Tamboti Bush lodge offers guests game drives, fishing, wine tasting, a swimming pool and wonderful little spots in the gardens to just relax and do as little as possible.
The conference facility at Tamboti can seat 30 guests and is the ideal breakaway spot for that day conference away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Tamboti Bush Lodge along with its Bush Willow Camp and House can sleep a total of 32 sharing.
