I was 16 in 1969. I had just met my first true love. She was 13. We went together for 3 year's then got married. She was 16 and I was 19. We both loved this music especially CCR. Unfortunately she was tha first of 3 marriages. I'm 71 now and my 3rd and last marriage lasted 32 years. She was the jackpot. I loved her so much. The first day of this month she passed with cancer. Been 4 years and I live alone now. I still listen to all our favorite music from the 60s and 70s. It still helps me get trough some long days. Thank God for good Rock music from my generation.

It was the last summer before my draft. I had just graduated high school. I was working on my third girlfriend. I drove a 1957 Corvette. I had the world in the palm of my hand! 55 years later, I look back with the wisdom of life and shake my head at all the opportunities I was blind to. But the music stayed the same. Like an old friend.

So many great hits from the 60’s! Nothing today outdoes those years. Even singers like Frank Sinatra rode on those memorable waves of music then. How cool is that❣👍

I was 11 years old and met my lifetime best friend Cecelia aka Happy. She passed due to breast cancer 2016. /she would have been 67 this year. We had so much fun at her aunt Mildred's house listening to this good music and enjoying the effects of black light and posters. Just a place where we cold be ourselves amongst all of the political and racial woes of this country. What a classic time and classic music. my dada listened to rock and al kinds of music. though I'm African American, dad encouraged me to listen to all kinds of music because its about life. Music today I truly have no comment. I am glad I grew when I did.

Bought a used 1961 Corvette in immaculate condition in 1967, my senior year of H.S, had two motorcycles, dated several girlfriend’s, listened to great rock & roll music of that generation. Suppose some would say I had it made at such a young age, but I worked for what I had. July of 1969 rolled around, moon shot landing was on July 20th of that year, but I paid no attention, didn’t care, entered military service on the 22nd of that month. Ended up at Ft. Bragg with the 82nd Airborne Division as a Paratrooper, still listening to great rock. The era is long past me now, but I’m still listening to the great rock of that era & my youth! As Frank Sinatra sang, “I did it my way”, there could have been other way!

We were all very lucky to have this music when we were growing up. Today, it's all about the glitz and impossible stunts. The music has become secondary to the show. WE HAD THE MUSIC.

Janis Joplin, I loved her singing. I was teased often that I sounded like her. Same voice perhaps, big difference, she was intelligent, had talent, and could sing. I had/have none of that. I’m just me, one of trillions of persons in this world and I like it that way the older I get.

It was a great year for me. I had great friends, left college, learned a craft, and attended Woodstock. 1969 was the Bomb! 😊
