Have watched lots of channels. Your's is Very Good! I'm a 70 year young guy who does a 36 hour fast twice a month and live a fasting lifestyle. That tactic along with Collagen I'm in the best shape of my life. Drs amazed at all my stats. BP CORL etc and I am constantly living with a smile because I get comments daily on how people cannot believe I'm 70

Interesting video! I used to eat fried plantains when I lived in South America. They were so good! Next time I buy groceries I'll have to look for *green* plantains. Organic miso paste 1-3 x/day with meals is what I use for my probiotics.

At grocery store I get Bob's Red Mill Arrowroot starch. It thickens and makes gravy. I go to my local oriental store and get Kuzu (Kudzu) starch and add that as well to the gravy. It Lowers Blood sugar. I buy instant soup mix to make a Mushroom broth then add the starches above to make the gravy. Has Shitaki mushrooms in it.

As ever… Fabulous content Thomas. In 1997 I dropped 15 plus pounds of weight, primarily from fat ( 32 inch waist down to 28 inches ) utilizing resistant starches, and of course Fitness. I’ve been praising them as a tool for years now, so I Love whenever you promote content and science about this topic… of course, I greatly enjoy ALL of your content… Peace

i grew up eating oatmeal allowed to cool and harden and I would eat it like a solid. Eventually oatmeal gave me diarreah so I gave it up. Burro bananas cooked green and plantains grown in my own yard have been a seasonal part of my diet for decades. Maybe that is why I never gained weight over the last few decades.

Great tips, Thomas! Metabolism is busted from years of high fat. Learned the hard way.. Need to add some carbs back in for balance.

Thanks. What about so-called overnight oats? I don't cook them; instead, I pour boiling hot water, mix with chia seeds and other seeds and -- refrigerate over night

This is so interesting! This talk about resistant starches makes me think of the other day when I tried adding the tiniest amount of regular wheat pasta while staying under my usual net carb limit but was kicked out of ketosis the next day. Sounds like a carb is not just a carb!

I’ve added in overnight “protein” oats to my low carb diet and I love them so much. Do the oats have to be cooked and then cooled? They can just soak overnight and still have the same effect, right?

Thank God. I bought like a giant bag of sprouted oats from Costco and I haven't done anything with them.

I love this channel. Does anyone have recommendations on who else is good at this kind of topic? Just general food knowledge in general doesn't have to be keto (and often this isn't). I also like Dr. Berg. Thanks!

I know cooked cold potatoes are resistant starches but what about raw potato? Raw sweet potato? I used to eat raw potato as a child.
