This is one of my favorite songs I’ve heard him sing. Even though there are still many vocal feats, they are seem incredibly tasteful and appropriate to the expression of the song. So beautiful!

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. With friendship Rui Baptista

Ikanaide means „Don't go“ and was composed in 1989 by the Japanese singer-songwriter and actor Koji Tamaki. The lyrics were written by Goro Matsui. In the same year, this song was borrowed from a Chinese-Japanese TV series called Farewell, Lixianglan. This series is about the true story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a Japanese woman born in China. She made a career as an actress and singer in China during WWII and therefore had to hide her Japanese origins and was known there under the name Li Hsiang-Ian. When her true origin was revealed at the end of WWII, she was charged with espionage and was sent back to Japan, where she continued her acting career.
The Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung changed the song to Cantonese and called it Lixianglan. Later in 1993 it was adapted into Chinese Mandarin and called Late Autumn or Autumn Strong. However, the lyrics and therefore the meaning of the song were changed.
Dimash sang Autumn Strong in The Singer competition in China in 2017. It was the 4th performance of the show and it was the very first time he sang a song in Mandarin.
This song is sooo beautiful❤️. And he performed it with so much emotions. You literally can feel his pain😪. His first song in Japanese. He has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from his studio in China. There he took part in the show Shine! Super Brothers. I’m not sure but I think it was his studio in China. But I do know he got a studio as a gift for his birthday.
If the Japanese reactors are to be believed, Dimash sang in perfect Japanese. Some also claimed that it was better Japanese than many Japanese themselves😅.
He sang the same song but with different lyrics on the competition show "The Singer" in China in 2017 titled "Autumn Strong". And this song has a sad backstory. This was his first song in Mandarin. He was so young there. But I like Ikanaide more than Autumn Strong.
Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

Really appreciate that you let the song play through first.

The fabulous thing with this song is, he sang it for years in Chinese, learned the Japanese for this presentation, NAILED IT, and now sings it in both languages at shows. Like literally switches in the middle or the choruses. I know the camera work makes it seem pre-recorded, but it was streamed live and then they edited the camera work afterwards. Thanks so much for taking the time to share this and all your knowledge with us! Edited to add, thanks for running it all the way through first. Any vocal coach or pro singer that analyzed this, was like OMG wait! And paused every 2 seconds, lol. Can't blame them at all, but they miss the flow and emotions

Dimash isn’t just a singer, he is a true artist. That’s how I would describe him. It’s not enough to have a good voice and hit the notes it’s so much more and he has it all.

There's another thing you have in common with Dimash then: martial arts. He does taekwondo (red belt), there're some videos around showing his skills.

Born to a famous professional, Tessitura Soprano mother and a famous Pop Singing Father, the course of Dimash's life was cast. His ability appeared before the age of 5 at which time he began the journey to becoming the greatest vocal stylist of our time. We can teach people to be better singers but it would be cruel to make anyone believe reaching this level can be achieved without many things aligning. It is a lifetime of total commitment.

This has been my number 1 since he released it in Japanese. I've got to say "Fate" and Angel Love takes its place until l hear it again. Then I'm right back to Ikanaide

Try falling to sleep listening to this in your earphones. I listen to it to calm me at night and feel good about the day that’s past and the day to come. His voice is so therapeutic. ❤

I always point out that while his vocal range is incredible, what's most impressive is what he can do with is voice in each of those registers. Great analysis of his voice, but I found one thing you didn't mention. Many times, at the end of a phrase, it sounds like the note has ended, but if you listen carefully, you can hear it continue... often to the beginning of the next phrase. It's one of his qualities that quite often goes unnoticed.

FYI- Dimash was offered a position with the Astana Opera. He turned it down because he did not want to be limited to any one genre. Thank you for your reaction.

Thank you for your analysis...just loved your explanations. Since discovering Dimash, I've always felt he becomes the songs he sings. In an interview between Goro Matsui, co-writer with Koji Tamaki, and the Dimash Japanese Fan Club featured in the DimashNews site's article on this song, he commented on Dimash's singing of the repeated phrase "Ahhh Ikanaide"... "Although they are the same exact words, each line has a different meaning. I feel that Dimash seems to knowing it.” Dimash indeed captured the emotions of this song. Just beautiful ❣️❤️❤️❤️
