Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz XRT a BETTER truck than a Honda Ridgeline?

The Santa Cruz is Hyundai's compact truck and it receives a new trim for 2024.l On the outside you will discover off-road tires, unique wheels, running boards and sliding bed cover. On the inside you will find a 10.25in infotainment screen & 10.25in digital gauge cluster. Under the is a 2.5L turbocharged inline-4 mated to an 8-speed DCT. Is the 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz XRT a BETTER truck than a Honda Ridgeline?

Joe: Thanks for the review; I am looking to buy a Santa Cruz. I drove a non turbo SEL and a turbo XRT and the turbo is the way to go. One correction: The non-turbo models can tow 3500 lbs but the turbo models can tow 5000 lbs. Ridgelines can tow 5000 lbs so I think this is pretty impressive for the compact Santa Cruz. The Maverick hybrid or turbo can only tow 2000 Lbs unless you get the turbo AWD with the 4k tow package; good luck finding that option/combo here in the Tampa Bay area. So where towing is concerned the less trucky Santa Cruz does "truck" better than the truckier looking Maverick.

personally, i found a used Hyundai SC with activity package and only 9k. i love it and i think i got a good deal.- i really like the truck

Hey Joe I'm pretty sure with the turbo no matter the trim towing is increased to 5, 000 pounds.
Or if not my research of this vehicle is wrong. Anyway thanks for another great video.

I've read that with the 2.5 turbo towing capacity goes up to 5000 lbs with the Santa cruz.

Owned 2 Tacoma’s which I loved, but traded my last one for a 2021 Ridgeline. The Ridgeline drives so much better, smoother, roomier, bed trunk is awesome, only Zonk is slow infotainment system. Sound is great though as I have the RTLE with 540watts and a subwoofer!!! Don’t like the looks of the Santa Fe or Maverick. Ridgeline improved looks in 2021 with more solid front end plus duel exhaust….Joe always love your reviews!!!

My dad bought a Santa Cruz XRT. It is pretty cool looking on the outside, but really not that special on the inside. The backseat is comfortable but really nothing much back there. No ac/heat vents, center arm rest or USB ports. That's pretty much my only gripe about it. I do like the fact I have plenty of legroom and I do feel safe in the back.

It's slick, and it's fresh; I really can't blame folks for wanting one. People are tired of these stale lineups from other manufacturers... it's been the same ol' stuff for years, give or take some recalls.

But gosh, 41k? And, after all the dealership mumbo-jumbo... 50k? That's gonna be a hard-sell.

I like the design of those wheels (but with the regular black center caps) but they look small in the wheel wells of the SC. The wheel cutouts are huge and are shaped for the larger 20" wheels.
