You should have put the Model X in low and set the suspension to Sport. Would have made a big difference. If it was the performance version the difference would have been much greater.

I've been in both of those cars and the Audi interior build quality is in another league compared to the Tesla.

I smell a RAT! How was the drag race so close? e-tron 0-60 is 5.5 sec. Base Model X o-60 4.4 sec. Looks like the Model X was in "Chill" mode. This isnt the first time Fifth Gear has falsified Tesla's acceleration.

Good video. Still strange to see that the ‘old manufacturers’ have not found the answer yet to beat the Tesla. And face it, without the Tesla there would not be a electric Audi.

Model X is set to high mode for the lap time!! There is a very low mode that improves track performance significantly.

Why didn't you get the Performance version of the Tesla?

X model can go faster if you go to settings))) and traction controll can be set up)))

This isn't the P100D ludicrous...or else it would destroy the Audi

Lower the suspension on the X, you will gain better cornering ability and faster acceleration.

The Model X goes half a second faster 0-60mph when lowered! If it was lowered it would make a big difference in 0-60 and also the lap time.
I really like the Way Audi looks especially in the back but those "mirrors" are terrible

Although I do like the Model X because of its power, I like the Audi more because of the interior styling, its price, and how cool Audi cars are generally

Tesla wins in any test because it’s more efficient, able to go farther, faster, seats up to 7, gets OTA updates, has access to Superchargers and the residual values are very good.

Also, if you don’t have the Model X in the lowest air suspension setting you don’t get the full power output in order to save the U-joints. I don’t think they had the Model X lowered to “Very Low”. I also don’t know if they are using the most up to date Model X that has adaptive dampers and the revised air suspension.

After having a variety of cars from VW, MINI, Mercedes, Honda, Infiniti, and JLR I can say by far my favorite car is my Tesla Model 3. It’s so fun to drive quick, the updates keep you from feeling like you’re missing out on something “next years” model has, and enjoying the vast advantage Tesla’s Supercharger network has in the US vs. non-Teslas that are stuck using a hodgepodge of unreliable DC fast charging stations run by 50 different companies and many of them are drastically lower output than Tesla’s V2 or V3 Superchargers.

I just wish Fifth Gear gave a little more info on what they were testing (current X or something they found from a private owner that’s a couple years old)?

And the Tesla bulls keep saying there is no competition. They have their heads in the sand.

For the correct acceleration you need to put the air suspension on low, everyone knows this. But apparently car journalists don’t.

Armatures, the Tesla need to be set in Very Low (air suspension) for it to give full power in a drag race !!! Still faster even with 80% :-)

Why is the Model X air suspension set to high?

What nobody seems to mention is that Tesla build everything in-house (HW & SW). Audi appoint the usuals for separate bits and modules, Bosch, Delphi, Denso, Siemens, LG, Panasonic etc.. All those modules have their own firmware. Tesla can update every module in the car, in one hit as everything is controlled by a very powerful central computer unit. Also, the Model X has the hardware "out the box" for level 5 Autonomy. Just some software, that's holding it back.
I'm not a Tesla fan, but Elon has really shook things up in the EV world and the regular car manufacturers have got loads of catching up to do.

If I'm taking a long trip, give me the Tesla. Any other time, I'll take the Audi.

Tesla: 350 mile range, 155 mph top speed
Audi: 237 mile range, 124 mph top speed

Tesla wins.

Audi is just another level man. The feeling you get with an Audi is just fantastic.
