A few months ago I said in the comments of this video that MBTA needs Bombardier Multilevels and new electrified lines. Well now I have a plan or general idea:
-The Providence/Stoughton gets the last bits and pieces it needs
-The Franklin Line via the NEC gets fully electrified with overhead wires
-The Framingham/Worcester gets fully electrified with overhead wires
-The maintenance facility gets electrified
The Fairmount and Needham Lines get converted to Subway operation and get electrified with third rail. The Needham Line would be an extension of the Orange Line
This would allow for less trains shortages and the scrapping of single level coaches and the older locomotives. Any remaining single level cars would become bike cars.
