Im not muslim, but when i saw ramadan coming up on the calendar i felt drawn to it somehow. I started researching the dos and donts, how long does it last, what SHOULD i be doing and much more. After watching this video, i think i MAY actually do this. I been feeling blocked spiritually, and i think i could unblock myself with this time of fasting and reflection ❤❤❤

Dr. Omar Suleiman is one of the most articulate speakers of Islam. He encapsulated the beauty of Islam and Ramadan most eloquently. Alhamdulliah!

Fasting is under rated. Everyone should try it, even if you are not Muslim.

I’m fasting with my Muslim friends, I’m not of the faith but I believe this is a good thing to do.

No, I've never fasted. I just wanted to thank both Lex and Omar for this talk. I truly enjoyed how calming, informative, authentic, intelligent, interesting and mature the conversation was. Thank you both!

The feeling of community you get when the entire community fasts is actually quite magical as well. Muslims feel much more connected with eachother when all of them are going through this same physical exertion.

I’m not religious. But I saw the star and moon in the sky last night and felt a great love for people observing this special time ⭐️🌙

The hardest part about fasting isn't the not eating part. But the waking up at 3 am to eat and drink enough to be energized for the rest of the day

I'm not religious and I'm certainly not a proponent of organized religion, but Ramadan is one of those religious practices that not only is great for your body, but I've been doing it for 3 years now and it really is physically and spiritually tough, but it's great. Highly recommend it. Even if it's just one time. Worst case scenario, you're just healthier.

After the first 2 days you feel you can punch through walls with only a sip of water. The first 2 days of fasting are the hardest... it becomes so much easier and better after that. Your Days seem longer you can do more work, get more prayers in and have time to cook it just feels amazing.

I 100% agree, the best time of the year is Ramadan, It brings so much joy, the family gathering everyday, preparing food together ..I also feel so overwhelmed when I go to the mosque at night prayers..as hot and crowded it can get in the mosque, It feels like an empty, comfortable and peaceful place, You forget about anything related to real life, all your problems, literally ..The only thing I can think of during that time is how I'm so grateful to be a part of it...and sometimes I can't stop my tears, you just feel the presence of something, a soul .. everyone is just focused on themselves..and for me that one hour goes by so fast .
I'd say the only hard thing about Ramadan is organizing my time and having balance, I don't get enough sleep and I get a little bit tired 😩

I'm saying this even tho I'm not the best muslim out there, not the most practicing but Ramadan is truly special.

Once you get used to it, no food and no drink is definitely not a problem. The big problem for most muslims are to control the big temptation for not being patience enough. Controlling our temper is another challenge. Ramadhan is certainly a great time to reevaluate our characteristic, and be a better person.

To people saying it sounds easy... The not eating is easy but the no water is what gets you
Hydrating is so important during this process especially if you're from a warm part of the world

Thank you so much for this ❤I’m a Christian but I admire how discipline the Muslims are and how dedicated they are to their beliefs. As a Christian I am going to take notes on this ❤️😘🌈🦄🧜‍♀️🕊️👑🌊

This is so true, as a muslim woman my favourite time of the year is Ramadan, it was as a child and even now, even though I don’t always fast as i have been pregnant always in ramadan so i choose to make up my days later on, i miss it so much.

Most challenging and the best part of Ramadan fasting is to develop self restraint and God conscious beside numerous health and spiritual benefits.
