What year is the pro version of the squads card? We're they both 96?

A couple of things. First of all I did not put all the cards from early years for Beckham. I tried to choose the most popular or the the ones I see being more relevant. If I miss a card you real like there is a likely scenario that card is still great, just did not make the video. Second: the release for merlin96 was in January, but that dont change my point. The card should be label 1995-96. SGC and BGS already do this. And for me going with season makes way more sense than going with the single year (apart from WC/euro stuff for example). Going with just the year in soccer is a recipe for disaster. PSA now puts 1995 on the Merlin sticker, and thats better than putting 1996, but I still think putting 1995-96 is the correct way, on that sense congrats on SGC and BGS for seeing this.

If you believe they should go with the release and not the season you probably have a big percentage of the market misslabel. For example Messi megacracks campio cards... those are released on may of 2005. If you go into vintage is almost impossible to find the release date, knowing the season is already quite good in a lot of cases. Even in pre-modern that are not panini (and sometimes even panini) knowing if the release was in december or january, because a lot of releases are around those months, gets very tricky.

PS the Premier Gold is coming back wrong. Mine came back saying 1995 which is a shame. Its silly because the picture is from a specific game and famous moment they could see so easily.

I love the 2006 World Cup set. But as you pointed out with Panini not having the rights to print the English logos at the time, pretty much every English player's card looks absolutely horrible. No emblems & the color combination is just unattractive & strange. This might be one of the few times that you & I have had different opinions about eye appeal.
