Just a heads up for anyone wanting to maintain a cruelty free skincare/makeup regime, some of the time snail "slime" is harvested by putting the snails under intense stress so they produce more. Tactics to do so can include electrocution, dunking the snails in salty and vinegar infused water and more. Moral of the story, make sure you are getting your skincare from a reliable and cruelty free source who use methods such as allowing the snails to freely roam some mesh as means of collecting the slime in a humane way.

Thank you!! So glad to hear you mention the whole plastic surgery is also because of peo traveling to South Korea, it’s not locals getting it done. This stereotype is annoying, I have friends who live there who haven’t had work done.

Funny fact about the SO-called "K-BEAUTY" trend, the Snail slime things came from France, I believe. Of Course it became really big thing in K-BEAUTY, later on.
BTW, the rib cage removal surgery is never heard of. Definately not a common thing that could call as a "Trend".

Generally, a lot of them trying to change their face structure without surgical method like nose squeeze and double eyelid supporter are from Japan. People should visit there and see how many stuffs they produce to change their looks without surgery. Korean people usually choose the easiest and the most efficient way even it costs more but in Japan PLASTIC SURGERY is still known as something huge and the thing can't talk in front other people even when they already had.
But have to admit both of the cultures giving too much pressure to girls to be pretty or kawaii(cute in Japanese).
