Compose Multiplatform Alpha: The Story

Показать описание

Today’s release marks another step in our grand unified theory of UI development with @Kotlin! We have a lot of news to talk about for our multiplatform UI efforts, including Compose for Desktop and Compose for Web.

In collaboration with @Google, JetBrains is bringing the technology to new places. With Compose Multiplatform, you can use the same declarative approach and APIs used to build modern Android applications to create user interfaces for desktop apps and apps running in the browser, powered by Kotlin on the JVM, and Kotlin/JS.

JetBrains is doing so many things at the same time right now, it's honestly rather amazing. All their IDEs, AS, space, their training programs, ktor, kmm, kmp, wasm support, new compiler backend, new memory model for native, compose multiplatform, libraries for multiplatform like: serialisation, coroutines, datetime. and much more I don't know/remember right now. And it feels like a ton of them are at beta/alpha right now. I hope you don't get overwhelmed and you got plenty of developers working on each project!

To be sincerely, years back I already knew that a UI Framework would change Kotlin completely, but I never tough that it would be SO GOOD and well done, with Compiler plugin and stuff, my pass self is pretty fucking happy today, and I'm excited to see Compose in new platforms like iOS and web+skia

I started using kotlin as an experiment, now i can't and i won't stop using it, i am currently learning jetpack compose and trying compose for desktop i also use ktor for backend, can't wait to see how kotlin will bloom in the near future, and i hope i could get an intern at jetbrains someday🤍

Nice... looking forward to see the iOS support. Because it's gonna be more likely that I want to share my code with iOS then with the desktop...and it's has to be easier than Flutter
