Getting the Most Out of Chaos Daemons in 2024 - Warhammer 40k 10th Edition Tactics & Army Guide

I'm back with a new Chaos Daemons tactics video that goes over how to get the most use out of your army in the current 2024 post MFM 10th Edition 40k meta. This video will mainly be focused on competitive play & should (hopefully!) help you squeeze a few more wins out of your Chaos army

I've had a whole lot more practice since my original Chaos Daemon tactics guide & would like to show you some of the combos I've been using to get the most out of my demons for tournament level play. I made sure to include representatives from every Chaos God: Nurgle with his resilient extra stat sticks, Khorne with his bawls out damage potential, Tzeentch with his 'across the table' shooting & finally Slaanesh for their speed / shenanigans. This time around I tried to only include what I consider to be the best units for one of the best armies in this 10th Edition Warhammer 40k competitive army guide

I've also included a rundown going over the most important Strategem's we have access to, along with sections for each Chaos God's particular combos & synergies

While this can sort of be seen as an addition to my Chaos Daemon Tier List from the past, a lot has changed over this time (not only points but just learning the in's & outs). One of my big hopes with this video is that it might spark some ideas to branch out & try some new unit combos you're unfamiliar with. Maybe you've never ran Bloodletters, or got burned by the Keeper of Secrets yet again so shelved your Slaanesh all edition - well now's the time to bust them out & see what they're really capable of, whether casual or tournament play

While the Chaos Space Marine codex is right around the corner, I'd like to do a similar update for them as they've seen *many* changes over 10th edition. While we had been struggling as one of the worst armies in 40k (WR% that is) the recent MFM buffs have helped breath some fresh air into the Chaos faction as a whole so I still think it'd be fun to take another look at them; along with Death Guard, World Eaters, Thousand Sons & Chaos Knights (1ksons are looking esp. amazing right now!)

With Adeptus Custodes & Necrons finally getting some deserved balancing (ok maybe not *that* harsh for Custodes) I think now is the perfect opportunity to shine with Chaos. Time will tell if the new Orks Codex / Meganobz threat will overrun the tournament scene, or if Sisters of Battle will continue to sneak their way up the ladder, but only time will tell. That said I fully believe Daemons are one of the stronger armies currently in 10e wh40k. I'd like to continue to release some more Chaos 40k content here shortly. I've been working with a good friend on potentially doing some 10th edition battle reports and/or 40k lore reviews so we'll see what we can come up with for you guys

As always please consider liking & subscribing if you haven't already, I really wouldn't be here without you guys so sincerely thank you *all* so much for coming along with me! Best of luck on the table & please let me know if you have any questions/suggestions/etc

Please leave comment below if you have any questions or think I missed anything important. The more info we can get out there the better so don't hesitate to reach out!

UPDATE: Its been brought to my attention that you don't technically take control of an objective until the end of a phase/turn, so the 'sticky obj with scouts if opponent goes first' won't work. Sorry for any confusion! (I thought the strategem overwrote that but it clearly says "you control")

Let me know if I missed anything else :)

There's a severe lack of content creators that focus on Daemons so keep up the good work! Subscribed and looking forward to more of your content!

Wish I could better put into words, but it's your voice, your calm manner, the way you explain things, you love for the game and so on. It shows through in the videos. keep up the good work. love the content.

Great video!

My friend sent me this, and I was originally reluctant to watch it due to the length, but I’m glad I did.

Thank you for all the eye opening info. Daemons have been a bit of a learning curve for me.

Loved this vid. Been looking at daemons to start off for souping into CSM/WE and I want to develop it into its own army, this is a lot of helpful information. Great to see you uploading again and I hope you are doing well!

It will never not amuse me that Be’lakor basically goes ‘I have no shooting? Wrong. Go-go gadget Summon skarbrand!’

Nice list my fellow Deamonic lord! I'd love to see some changes to the Tzeentch stuff most of all. They're quite underpowered compared to the Nurgle and Khorne units. Quite silly GW didn't change anything in our slate at all... If they are going to lower the cost on weaker units in other armies, they should definitely do it for everyone. Very positive video! Very informative. Keep at it! 😁 If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend the fateskimmer bomb with screamers starting on the table, then take them off and leave them in reserve as a rapid ingress threat! 27w with 14" move and mortals coming in from reserves later in the game is... very scary! It's a nice way around 'you must' arrive back on the board with the stratagem.

I just got to 1000 points of 1000 sons but you’re getting me psyched to start a demonic army, starting with Tzeentch

I've been having some luck with epidemius attached to the plaguebearer squad. I put them front and center pointing to the middle objective, but toeing on my home objective. The cp rule is secondary to making that squad have a 4+ invuln. Pair that squad with a Nurgle daemon prince on foot (with upgrade) or a GUO with bell.

Belakor is a good "all comer" take, but most tournament tables don't have a problem providing LOS blocking terrain. if your local meta has very little or no terrain, Belakor is a mandatory take.

Soul grinders should be meta. I've got 3 of them and they always soak up plenty of damage while dealing consistent damage back. I've used denizens of the warp to pull heavily wounded soul grinders to my home objective to heal up and provide deepstrike screening.

I tryed Belakorless mononurgle list with some success - all your units are quite tuff anyway to survive some shooting

Thanks for doing these, feels like there isn't much 40k daemons content on youtube, except barnyard mainly, happy to hear about your positive changes and huge congrats on the weight loss, hope you're feeling better from that (and teeth ofc)

One advantage with regular blood thirster is "The king of blades" Running both should be good in mono khorne list. Great video!

I have a bit of a sleeper combo. I run skarbrand with a khorne soul grinder. Since it gives grinder the khorne keyword, it means that it gets the melee bonuses from skarbrand. I like to airdrop him 6" in the bubble, unload the gunfire, which you can splitfite if you want. People always expect it to be a shoots unit but i have had a tone of success running him with skarbrand as a melee/overwatch threat. I prefer the Warpsword over the claw because more ap and potential more damage. Thing is the shooting is still good because harvester canon is strength 10 2 damage. Playing him melee also means you can use tankshock on him, so 11 dice for potential insta wounds. I highly recommend trying it. I like to run it with either multiple great unclean or rotigus to hold objs, or just one unclean with a lord of change holding midboard with belakors lone op.
