The best thing about extreme deep diving is that you don't have to do it.

2 things I’ve learned
1. Don’t go diving
2. Don’t go caving

What’s crazy is how violent 1000 feet can be on the human body, yet the ocean can go even another 35 THOUSAND feet down.

At least they finally pronounced Sheck’s name right in a video. They usually pronounce it shack. He’s the OG of cave diving and his name is basically royalty in the diving community. He was the first person to break the 400 foot mark on regular air, something considered suicidal by today’s diving standards.

It seems like he knew if he died no one would ever recover him so when he wrapped himself in the line its so he wouldnt remain at the bottom forever.

There is a worse way to die. Some dude on the west
coast was on the beach with his truck. To get out of the sun he laid under his truck for a quick nap.
The tide coming in work him up, and he could not get out from under the truck as the wheels were sinking and water rising.
He slowly drowned.

The first sign of danger was probably having to go through FREAKING DEAD TURTLE PASS.

I think John Edward Jones had the most brutal death in history, 27 hours hanging upside down in a cave, his body wasn't even able to be removed.

When I became interested in becoming a cave diver, the first thing I did was go buy a manual. I got a book called Basic Cave DIving. Author: Sheck Exley. The guy literally wrote the book on cave diving. I didn't know who he was, but when I brought the book into the dive shop, they all knew who he was and gave me a history lesson. He was a pioneer and a legend in the cave diving community, and he died doing what he loved.

I am from Tamaulipas and let me tell you that out of all the ways people can die over there, this particular one is one of the peaceful ones

How about the splelunker who died wedged upside down in a cave for over 24 hrs. while rescuers tried fruitlessly to free him.🤯

As a diver this video was very interesting
BUT IF U HAVE OXYGEN PROBLEMS IF U CAN, tell ur buddy and exit the waters do not go alone always go with a buddy thats one of the most important rules of diving

This is really chilling. Im not a diver. I once was as teenager in a swimming pool with a swimmingband. Got upside-down and couldn't get out. Really panicked, then realized no one helped me and i had to do it myself or drown. Calmed down and removed my legs from the band and escaped. All very scary.

I'm a little confused about the timeline and the depth of events here.

In one part of the video they say that Sheck pressed on without waiting for his friend, but then the next thing they say is he started hallucinating around 800 feet and Bowden went until 915 feet. If that were the case, wouldn't he have come across Sheck while ascending?

Can someone please explain? I think i didn't understand things properly.
