Happy to hear that it’s not logic, it’s just me 😅

Do this with FL and also Ableton please.

Crazy what our visual perception can do to how we “hear” audio. Sometimes I wish I could mix blindfolded and tell someone else what moves to make on the computer 😂 like..Did putting that cool looking plug-in on that track really do what I thought it needed? 🤔

The real deal in difference in sound between daws, is about the stock VSTs in particular the eq... Some examples, in fl watch channel has a 3 band eq with minimal phase and cramping, but somehow for most people and genres sounds great! Also the stock eq is both zero latency and Linear phase with different options for the actual eq method that came Handy. Qbase has built in eq with the fader, is cool, natural phase, has more bands and the pre/post fader options create a different style in the routing capabilities and the techniques that can be realized with that one. So if you only use external VSTs there's no difference at all but even if they are the cleanest ones the stock VSTs are where the sound difference can be found. (The pan law does not count because it can be changed or fixed to match) Maybe the dither and compression encoding can be a small factor for the final print. And for some I belie also de behaviour of real time buffers is what to some give the impression of a more accurate sound because for the listening part is actually more accurate with different settings, having better e performance on different programs with the same CPU...

Try bouncing a bunch of stems to a stereo file. The dif are supposedly in the summing algorithms.

I’m not totally convinced. This proves the digital Audio data is the same (1s and 0s) . How this data is converted to audio and how it sounds on playback may yield different results and those would not only be subjective, but could vary based on other components involved in the rendering process. But great post nonetheless! 💯

i’m just saying after using both logic and protools i can confidently say that logic is better than protools and the more i use logic the more i think that the only reason protools is relevant in the music industry anymore is the fact that it’s an older software

While I doubt that the difference in sound between Pro Tools and Logic is large, I also don't think this test proves much. Put a mix up with 40 tracks of audio, processing, and automation and bounce that. Then inverter them.

I hear some mixers say there is a difference in sample rate conversion. Not sure about LP vs PT but the argument was pointing towards using iZotope RX as a better option for the conversion. Not my own conclusion, just throwing it here.

Been using Logic for the last 2 decades for this exact reason- no difference in sound, only price.

Where were you 20 years ago when I was arguing with my friends which DAW is better and taking offense because they chose X over Y? Huh? .. But for real, thanks so much, simple yet beautiful.

A stereo in and stereo out is not good comparison you need to have multiple tracks and export a stereo to see if the summoning is different

My ProTools bounces have always sounded better to my ears. I can't explain it. It just is.

the mixdown result is the same but when you play the track on the daw sound little different, try cubase, studio one and reaper, try it

It comes down to what each individual prefers using. I tried to switch to logic but I like pro tools better. It’s just what I’m used to I guess

Yeah bro dragging an audio file sure wont do anything but i bet that if you recorded the same source into both DAW's at the same time, it would sound different

the summing is different, the right comparison would be mixing the same tracks with the same plugings on both DAWs an then do the bounce. There will be difference. I´m not saying any is better than the other, it is just different.

I'd love to show this to the goober who tried to argue with me that Pro Tools is the industry standard because it just SOUNDS better than other DAWs.
