I took this video to show that my '03 cummins will just about max out the EGT gauge when under no load and on flat surface. NO extra fuel modification has been made to this truck. It has a performance program on it from superchip. I recorded this for oleskoolvp!

Yes it is extremely important! lol A high temp for to long will melt your turbo (literally), no joke I've seen this happen! Also I can use this as my base point when adding more mods to the truck to see just how effective they are. Also the lower that number goes with out changing the tune the more power I will have. Mods to lower this number would be bigger inter-cooler, intake, water/meth injection, several turbo mods, a tune from smarty, ect. As my build goes on I'll show each progression =)

That performance program has added extra fuel through the computer. You need to add more air, bigger turbo, air intake, exhaust. If that's out of your price range consider a Snow performance water methanol injection kit to keep your EGT's under 1100.

Wow thats nuts man i cant believe it can get that high doing nothing. So here my dumb question for you if the main goal is to keep egt low but you really dont have any mods is it really that important sinceIV you can max out almost stock?

well i know it important.lol i was just dum funded how fast they got there that all. yes i will be really interested to see how you do with the build. i know it really dose not help me with some of the stuff i have to do just becues your is newer but i like see what you can get out of the trucks. but i got to say after see this one it kinda make me want to do a motor swap i just dont know how to get the other motor i have to fit and i dont think the frame will take it
