SCARIEST GIMMICKS | Wrestling's Faces of Fear!

Given the fact pro wrestling is a variety show, it means you’re always going to have to find space for all different types of characters on your roster. After all, while some fans want to see John Cena-esque supermen, others prefer more comedic figures such as Orange Cassidy or R Truth. Separate from them though is another style of performer completely, one who leans much more into the horror aspect of things. But who are the best examples of this? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at today.

For me it's kane...the original one from like 97-02 his height, theme song, the fact he didn't talk....his presentation really made him feel like he was a monster....

THAT Kane chained entrance + JR on commentary
In the words of Ron Simmons
DAMN. What a moment
Speaking of JR, should've put the clip of Kane setting the poor man on fire cause why not?

Gangrel had one of the best entrances in wrestling. The best part was when he spat out the blood before he entered the ring. The image of blood dripping from his mouth was a very scary sight.

Honorable mentions:
1. Abadon (AEW)
2. Doink the Clown (WWF), the original evil clown played by Matt Borne
3. Abyss (TNA)
4. Judas Mesias (TNA)
5. Rellik (TNA)
6. Rosemary (TNA)
Dishonorable mention: Dungeon of Doom (WCW)

I agree with another comment on here, unmasking Kane was the worst thing they did.. I couldn't wait to see his face and when I saw it it was a disappointment..😅😅

I think something we should have mentioned for Kane specifically is the fact he even starred as the slasher killer in See No Evil. Just solidifying him as playing that part so well.

This video needs an alternative thumbnail with Masked Kane.

What about the early days of Crow Sting? When he went radio silent, things got scary. Especially in that period when his loyalty was being questioned. You didn't know who he'd attack. WCW, NWO, maybe an unruly fan. All were vulnerable.

Wow andy, it's amazing you mentioned White Wolf's Vampire the masquerade, its one of the underrated games out there including Hunter: The Reckoning

Growing up, Undertaker scared me. I used to leave the room when his casket showed up

Kane in 2003 was the most scariest man alive when he took his mask off. Also he burnt JR alive and electrocuted Shane McMahon’s testicles, Yeah that version of Kane was on a different level

The scariest wrestler for me was 2007 Great Khali. Squeezing Rey Mysterio head was scarier than 1998 Kane and Undertaker lol

I was around 11 when papa shango had the ultimate warrior throwing up I was totally freaked out but it was very entertaining nonetheless!

As a really old-school fan, for me it will always be The Undertaker. The moment I saw him at SS '90, I went pale and was absolutely terrified. The comments by Piper made it worse. "Look at those eyes! We need a little night-night time!" he doesn't look friendly at

Papa Shango scared the crap out of me as a kid 😱😂

Kane's "Original" version with the mask was it for me, when he first debuted.. but Undertaker has the most memorable scary persona and Bray Wyatt RIP had the most creepiest persona that you couldn't forget. The Boogeyman was scary fun as was Mankind..

No one scared me more than Kane the way he ripped off that door made it worse 🤣

Fun fact: As of June 2024, Martin Wright, aka Boogeyman, is still employed by WWE, as one of lead backstage producers and road agents.
