Canon EOS RP Best Settings For Photography // In Depth Beginner Settings Tutorial

In this video I go over the photography settings that I use with my Canon EOS RP. This is a great beginners guide for getting started with learning about all of the different settings on this camera, but feel free to change them to best fit you!

*I made a mistake in this video. At 3:12 I mistook "Release Shutter Without Card" with "Release Shutter Without Lens." This setting decides if the camera will take a photo without an SD card rather than without a lens*

3:12 "Release shutter without card" is "NOT" to shoot with manual vintage lens! it tricks you into shooting without a memory card, which is like shooting with a film camera without film!!! it is always better have it OFF, unless you need it for some weird reason!
What you are looking for is in menu no7 under the orange custom menu (the small camera with lines under

This video is so underrated. Thank you, because its great. I am thinking to get that camera but wanted to know how the settings looks like, what it has etc.
I have Canon 700d and always shoots Jpegs 'L'. I dont see a point to shoot RAW becausethat jpegs looks exactly how i see it in real life, no tweaking required :) time saved haha

Thanks for sharing. I do have a question.
My AF Method only displays two options. 1st Option: Face+Tracking and 3rd Option: 1-Point AF. I can't figure out why the other 5 are faded/inaccessible.
Any idea why?

2:58 is wrong. Release shutter w/o card is not about taking pictures with manual lenses. It is about not allowing/allowing the camera to release shutter with or without a card inside the camera. Should be always DISABLE as you can "take" a lot of pictures not knowing you had no card and all your shooting is wasted.

Can the shutter speed increments be changed? Example: It jumps from 15 sec to 20 sec not letting me choose 17 sec...as an example. Thanks

Very useful information. I still enjoy my Canon 5D Mark III very much, but I bought this camera because I've heard that the focusing ability is superior to the Mark III.

HI! I NEED YOUR HELP! I got my canon eos RP today and im trying to finish setting it up. But for some reason when im on Manual mode, in the menu settings the “af operation” only gives me one option which is manual focus and i cannot change it into servo or one shot like you show in this video. Do you know why that is? I also cannot change my f settings at all, it is always on F00😔 i need your help!😁
