Bose Home speaker 500 vs Bose Revolve Plus

This is a good looking unit. It may grow on me so I'll keep you update but primarily I am left bemused by the sound. How I wish it had more clarity, spacial eq, balanced mids and lows. I tried listening to an audiobook and it really scared me with its blaring. I felt like the reader was in my room hiding behind the couch. Yes, that scary. Anyway, the good news is there are many things that Bose gets right. The app is good, the connectivity is good, the volume is promising, it looks good, its a good unit to show off but the utility is lost and underwhelmed by the sound.

Personally I like the sound of the Bose home speaker 500. It does as all Bose small diameter speakers when it comes to large sound in a small package. I have only used blue tooth and nothing else right out of the box with no set up. I'm pleased.

It´s just that 500 plays only to the sides so when you stay straight in front the speaker it sounds weird. On the other hand the Revolve plus has kinda weak bass and is not so powerfull of course.

Is there stereo/surround effect for both? Or only mono feel? Which one has more depth bass and crystal clarity?

I bet if you adjusted the treble on the Bose home speaker and turned it up a bit, it would sound just as unique and pleasant as the Revolve plus. Perhaps you should make a video about this to determine the clear winner? :)

I was surprised to see a comment you left for me about the speaker I had before Bose home speaker 500. I have lots of Bose speakers. The first was back when the acoustic wave was a Bose big boy before blue tooth. I just recently got into blue tooth and I love all the music streaming. I got the JBL extreme 2. It sounded good out in an open area playing mid way but close up it sounded muffled to me. Then came the Bose home speaker 500. It is open and I like it . Of course I'm hearing I will just love the Bose sound touch 30 system 3. Hopefully next in this category. However you did sell me on the revolve plus. Tell me what you think about the Google premium home speaker. I hear it's got merits. Thanks

Sir it's very surprising about ur judgement with t hs 500.i have 2 revolve pluses as well it's mindblowing when playing it in stereo mode but this hs 500 for its size is awesome too.so I can't get it why r u disliking this master piece so much

Strange. I've been looking at lots of reviews of the Bose HS 500 and the Sonos One and the Apple Home Pod and most other reviews suggest that there's very little to choose between them in sound quality. All are generally rated as very good for a small speaker.

Did you exactly say adjust treble and bass who would do that...its easy as hitting audio and + or -...dude many people adjust to there taste..the revolve you get what you get...on revolve plus the treble on some songs get harsh., and you can't adjust it, play Gwen Stefani song, make me like you, this is a example of a song that the treble gets so harsh on the plus if you one who enjoys higher volume not max loud but loud
